The Port
The Port
Ft. Lauderdale, FL
An ACEC/NC 2006 Engineering Excellence Award Winner, the Port-Everglades Marina is the $12M portion of a $50M luxury condominium apartment development in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The marina designed by Maff-Stack, a Maffett company companion, incorporates a newly patented boat moving system within a dry stack marina. The facility accommodates boats ranging from lengths of 30-foot to 52 foot weighing up to 40,000 pounds per boat. The boats are stacked 70 ft. high in a 90 ft. high building. This concept adds the vertical dimension to modern boat storage at the same time reducing the overall footprint by 20%. The system can also be used in a smaller arrangement for lakes and smaller boats. The architectural engineering firm is Stantec International.
